BEAUTIES OF NATURE.

THERE is a gladness in the sunshine,

And a quiet in the shade,

Which makes me feel as if the earth

For happiness were made.

There's a grandeur in the forest,

And a beauty in the dell,

Where the singing birds and wild flowers

Of a long-lost Eden tell.

In the joyousness of friendship

There's a sunlight for the soul;

And there's happiness in everything

Where sin has no control.

Let us prize those heavenly blessings

Which are given to us in love,

While we seek for brighter treasures

Of the pure in heart above.
